Merudan e i 5 tibetani

5 Tibetan Rites

First move from tadasana
With the feet well planted on the ground as if they could grow roots, I spread my arms at shoulder height and I relax them.
Slowly I start turning on myself in clockwise direction,
trying to always stay in the same point, from 7 to a maximum of 21 times
If my head starts spinning because I was too fast, or maybe I turned too many times
I press the third eye to make it go away
And I stay in tadasana the time of some breathing and listen.

i 5 tibetani

primo movimento da tadasana
con i piedi ben radicati in terra come se potessero mettere radici, apro le braccia all'altezza delle spalle e le rilasso.
lentamente inizio a girare su me stesso in senso orario,

trad. in Engl.
The True Strength
Moving forward in the yoga practice the asana become more complicated
sometimes we try to use only the physical strength
some other time, instead, we immediately give up saying "I won't be able to do it"
some other time we just rely on concentration
but yoga is union and by unifying our yoga ways to be
we will be able to do incredible things.

acqua meravigliosa acqua...

trad. in Engl.

Water, wonderful water

With water you can:
play
travel
drink or eat
but before everything else
love it, respect it, and preserve it
Source of life, it's our wealth
our legacy, our responsibility
towards those who will come...

Thinking about the holidays

Thinking about the holidays
By going on holiday we can find
many things: a new love
places where we can find ourselves
alone or in good company
familiar or unknown places
good food and some cheerfulness
but there's something we
don't need to look for because we
can always bring it with us: Yoga!

Parlando di flessibilità - Talking about flexibility

Talking about flexibility

When we talk about yoga,
we talk about flexibility...
with a tendency to immediately
think about the body though,
pulling, pushing and forcing it
while trying to make it flexible!
forgetting that often the one
to be tense, blocked or closed
is our mind...not the body,
and it's to her that we need
to confide in to let go

maybe BEFORE practicing asana!!!!

Ad ognuno la sua immagine - Everybody has its own image

Everybody has its own image

A fundamental part of yoga
Are visualizations
We can practice them everywhere,
at home, in the office, and obviously
during a lesson!
Sit comfortably, close your eyes
and slow your breathing
Let your mind go to a place
you love, where you feel happy
and in peace,
picture the sounds, the smells,
the colours and now
let this image take shape…

shhht...bear in hibernation!!!

eh, it's cold, there's so many things to do and Merudan, being a lazy bear, went into hybernation... we will meet him again during the springtime when the first flowers blossom!

Shhht...orso in letargo!
ehhh...fa freddo, ci sono troppe cose da fare e Merudan è giustamente un orso pigro, e così s'è messo in letargo...lo rivedremo a primavera con i primi fiorellini! =^__^=

Lo yoga ti aspetta - Yoga waits for you

Yoga waits for you!
Sometimes it happens that one needs a time
off yoga, because of an injury or an
illness or just because one needs change.
The longer the time off, the bigger the
fear of having lost the goals one reached
but yoga is not just a physical discipline,
and after a few moments of uncertainty
you will find out that even if we detached
from it, yoga was always there waiting for
us and that will be the very moment
we will understand it will never leave us!

ricominciare da capo - start anew

start anew:
When I realized I had used yoga to hold my malaise
I detached from it replacing it with more physical
needs just as I detached from eating rules,
forced wake-up time, etc...
Now I can't start over again, though...
Did I lose trust in the practice? in the masters?
in me? How can I start again when I feel like this???
I know everything is still inside me...
but it won't come out! =_=
Maybe, and I say maybe, I could just sit on the mat as if it was my first yoga lesson
and start anew.

oltre i sensi - beyond senses

sul numero di ottobre di Yoga Journal! =^_^=

- beyond senses -
every day, I can choose how much attention I put into what I do
I can just pick an object up, or perceive it with all my senses:
look at it carefully
smell its smell
hear its sound
and touch it sofly
in sum, I can choose to live it with the whole of me!
(maybe without exaggerating though)

vivere con devozione - Live with devotion

Live with devotion
when I started practicing yoga
not everything was clear: the singing
ritual, the prayer and the curtsy
at the end...it looked like forcing
myself and bothered me. They were
part of the devotional aspect of yoga,
but I still hadn't realized that
live with devotion means totally
commit to something and therefore
let yourself into it with honesty,
love and passion! we often think
that to be devoted we need
to look towards the outside
but maybe we should look
closer first,
we could have a surprise!
